Nog maar net op Aruba aangekomen, ontving ik van Guido van den Heuvel een mail met als onderwerp ‘Boat Crazy Female over haar werk’. Hij wilde me graag interviewen over mijn ‘bootjesgekte’ voor Bootjesgek.nl. Hartstikke leuk natuurlijk, want ‘bootjesgek’ ben ik zeker.
“Wij brengen een zeilkrant uit na afloop van de jaarlijkse Reclamezeildag en we hebben ruimte gereserveerd voor Diana Bogaards, Communicatie in Watersport”, luidde de stem aan de andere kant van de lijn. Dat was even schrikken. Normaal gesproken ben ik degene die belt met een interviewvoorstel.

On this last day of 2007, it is time to look back on a wonderful and busy season. Sometimes I thought the sky was the limit, but a day has only 24 hours, so the universal time is the real limitation. But all my projects and assignments, the people I met, the opportunities I got and the unique experiences in other countries made it a prosperous and inspirational year. From my desk in The Hague, I like to thank you all and I wish you a healthy, happy and successful 2008. Enjoy your life!
It starts to get chilly, so it is time to plan the European fall and winter seasons. I decided to undergo the Hobie Way of Life by myself. I will team up with a true Hobie 16 sailor from Germany, Ingo Delius. At the Europeans in ‘s Gravenzande he asked me whether I wanted to join him for the Worlds on Fiji.
The sailing sport has a new enthusiastic sponsor, Royal Boskalis Westminister nv. They support a young and ambitious catamaran crew from the Netherlands, Stefan Dubbeldam (19) and Bastiaan Tentij (19).
On June first 2007, it was my fourth anniversary as freelance journalist. Edwin Lodder gave me my first job ever, the Zwitserleven Round Texel Race.
It is a shame…such a beautiful new website and no time to publish any updates. Well, I do have a lot to talk about. While sitting in an internet café in Lisbon, I finally write it down.

After a long and extremely busy season, I was not ready for a grey and wet winter behind my desk in The Hague. Instead, I thought of combining work and travelling in South-America.
