The first Volvo Extreme 40 Grand Prix series have come to an end. During five stopovers of the Volvo Ocean Race, five 40-foot catamarans has battled for the overall victory. Tommy Hilfiger turned out to be the best performing crew. Team Holmatro from the Netherlands came fourth.

My introduction to VX 40 racing was in Portsmouth. It was amazing to see the sailors racing the multihull as a dinghy. On the press boat they told me to bring my camera onboard of a VX 40, but I refused after witnessing the pitchpole of Motorola. Two races later, Tommy Hilfiger and Team Volvo Ocean Race, with former olympic champion Yves Loday on the helm, capsized. I was lucky!
