Volvo Ocean Race and Sydney Hobart Race

Diabo goes down under

Terrifying storms, successive low pressure areas, ice bergs and rough seas, the Southern Ocean will be a huge challenge for the seven teams in the Volvo Ocean Race 2005-06. Not only for the hightech equipment, but als for the sailors themselves. The competitors are expected to cross the finish line in Melbourne from January 17th and I will be there as journalist. I will capture the full stories of their rides through world’s most remote and dangerous Ocean.

Rolex Sydney Hobart Race
But at that time of the year, there is another prestigious event down under: the Rolex Sydney Hobart Race. And of course, as a water sports journalist, I cannot resist the temptation to report on this important offshore race as well. In order to write an article from the heart of the racing, I am looking for a team that wants to bring a reporter.

F18 catracing
After the Rolex Sydney Hobart Race, I will join the Australian F18 circuit as crew. That will be a good training for the European season and a great opportunity to get to know the Aussies.
